However, I do believe a lot of these rare minerals and resources exist in the eastern parts of Ukraine, thus Ukraine would have to push Russia back some more, so if Trump wants access to those he will have to help Ukraine push Russia further out.
(Outdated Territory Control) If it's the only option then it's a bitter pill to swallow but one that makes sense for their survival. Plus Trump won't be President in 4 years anyway so Zelenskyy or whoever is in charge can re-negotiate with a lesser dickhead, likely receive loan forgiveness and all that crap, a President who will be less likely to plunder Ukraine's lands in exchange for their freedom, we hope. Meanwhile the frozen Russian assets should all be sent to Ukraine.

Well it's Trump we are talking about though. He's kind of decided that everything he does has to be for some short-term business sort of interest. It would probably cost less in the long run to give aid if that meant Russia would otherwise win if aid were not delivered, but what the hell does that matter to trump? He only cares about how the GOP voters will care about his choices right now. Whatever, and yes, Zelensky is doing the best that he can.
