You mean Dragon Age: Origins, Dragon Age: Origins - The Awakening and Dragon Age Inquisition as the three games, right?

I'm inclined to believe that we will not see Dragon Age in the immediate future (even a 10 year span) until at some point down the road they go, oh we can pull this out for Nostalgia and people might get their kids into it. 20 years maybe. Unless it's a Remake of Origins whoch would actually sell, I would reckon, albeit they'll probably go the FF7 route, screw it up and people will be pissed. |
It was a 10 year gap between Inquisition (2014) and Veilguard (2024) anyway.
Honestly I would just like a remake of Dragon Age: Origins and an update to Inquisition to add 4k support to Xbox and Playstation.
Origins was incredible. Every "class" had it's own unique start story line.
Origins also had Alistair and Morrigan who were absolutely charismatic and hilarious together, you could tell the actors were enjoying their roles. And the story had a "bigger than me" story. - Something that was lost in Dragon Age 2.
The combat also required far more strategy, which harkens back to Baldurs Gate, Arcanum, Neverwinter Nights, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale and more, which I really enjoyed.
Dragon Age 2 was terrible, minus a few highlights with characters. - I.E. Varric.
Dragon Age: Inquisition had some really good world building and it was a pretty game on release, shame the maps were huge and the combat was dumbed down for more casual/console audiences.
And Veilguard? I enjoyed the dynamic between Solas and Varric, it was a good conclusion to those stories, but visually it wasn't a 10~ year leap over Inquisition, not on PC anyway and there were a lot of niggles. It was a "good" game, just not a genre defining "great" game... And the same issues that plagued Inquisition still existed. I.E. Dumbed down combat to appeal to console gamers/casuals.

Same, I just want Origins remade but with little of the FF7 remake treatment however so added content and QoL stuff, along with redone VA would be welcomed. The game Exodus by members of the old Bioware is enough and probably better than an ME4 with this team. Perhaps they would learn a thing or two after remake Origins and be able to craft a new DA that would reset the story in the vein of the Modren Warfare trilogies recent soft Reboot. |

I like Rebirth and all, but stop this nonsense of dumbing RPGs down. The only change to Origins would be to update the visuals. The combat was perfect as is. You don't realize it, but Origins is turn-based, as it's based on a dice roll. Not all turn-based games look the same.
