I'm thinking more from a media perspective... its bad press. Doesnt look good. We all know the media blow stuff out of proportion. |
Yes, it's a sad state of IMO especially the US media. Just like when a Sony repair employee refusing to repair an actor's PS3 because of being ridiculously dirty or a joke claim someone's home burned down due to the PS3. The more outrage and the less research done to look at things more objectively the better it seems...
IMO it's mostly a problem with the media though, there are hidden agendas, like claims of HD DVD crushing Blu-Ray, completely misinformed 360 vs PS3 hardware comparisons, no in depth research why a game port may end up into minor differences but hyped up beyond proportions, etc, etc...
|
To be fair, the 360 has had more than its fair share of negative sensationalist press...
Only Nintendo seems to be smear free at the moment... apart from the occasional Wii Fit story of crying 10 year old girls being told they are obese. But I'm sure they will find something to hit Nintendo with soon.
The western media (mainly UK and US) is just so poor and ill informed, and they still see gaming as a pass time dominated by geeky masturbating teenage males.

I object to that kind of stereotype. I'm 22 not a teenager.
