5000 series looking more like a joke and little of value compared to last gen, and the 4000 series wasn't exactly cheap as chips either.
Feels like as more time goes by, the cards get expensive, show little improvement, but also rely more and more on AI to be able to do anything, and then of course we get cherry picked raster results on top of that (meaning raster either doesn't get any improvement or it's even more marginal).
It's almost like Nvidia is playing this silly childish long and very boring game of "I'm not interested in your market, but I want you to take a while to guess that I'm not interested". It's been clear for a few gens now that they are more interested in Data centers/AI evolution, but the way they continue to play their customers in the PC market makes it look so depressing (like a father losing interest in spending time with their son, but they don't have the guts to admit it to their face, or they have too much pride not to admit it).
I've known for a long time now that companies don't like to outright bow out of entire industries for various reasons, but the most common one is usually "I like that slice of pie and I'd rather be the one to own it than giving it to anyone else", and it's why we still see MS in the PC space, despite all their (non) efforts to remain on the platform, Steam still pulls ahead a lot of the time and now their OS is looking to tackle the gaming side of MS on PC.
But to myself, sometimes I like to think it is often better to just bow out. if you don't truly care for the craft and all you do is treat everyone like a joke or not worth catering to/caring for, then you're not really worth much of anything (as a human, Jensen means very little, due to how his goals are structured, he doesn't care, like any other CEO, and yes he could be a charming nice guy irl, but that side of him hasn't surfaced in decades).
