I voted for Switch 2024.  Ironically, I played the Wii U more in 2014 than I played Switch in 2024, but a lot of that had to do with the fact that I picked up a Wii U for Christmas 2013, and so my family was playing all of 2012-2014's content in 2014.  Mario Kart 8 was ok in 2014, but I liked Mario Kart Wii better.  However, Mario Kart 8 in 2024 is actually the best Mario Kart ever, simply because they've added so much more content over the years.  The Wii U didn't have anything else in 2014 that has held up for me in the long run.

The reason I love 2024 is the reason why I love most Nintendo consoles.  I usually don't like to play third party games on Nintendo systems when they first release.  Instead I way quite a few years and then buy a ton of them cheap just so I can try out a ton of games at once.  What I've been doing for the past month or so is trying out a big stack of Wii games that I bought for cheap.  It's so much fun.  What I've found on Nintendo systems is there are usually a lot of great hidden gems among the third party games, but reviewers usually aren't very good at pointing out which ones are actually good.  In the end I just buy a ton, and try them out and quickly put about 3/4 of them aside.  But that last 1/4 has a lot of fun experiences in them.  I'm sure I'll be doing the same sort of thing with Switch third party games several years from now.  2024 had a ton of Switch third party games release, and that is exactly what I want.

Switch third party support right now beats any year from the Wii U.
