Oblivion main story was bad so there's not much to remember Tbh. It was the world where it shined, the ambience, the music, it was fucking beautiful, the side-quests and the faction questlines were far better than Skyrim and it had so much charm, even the janky shit and stupidity of some of the world, Lmao.
I honestly doubt Obsidian will ever bother with romance options in their RPGs in the future, did New Vegas have them? I know Avowed doesn't have romance but Josh Sawyer has also noted recently that it's not really something he is interested in, which is fine, not every RPG needs romance options and I sort of can see his argument, I just think it's something Obsidian at large doesn't really care about.
In response to a follow-up question, Sawyer pointed to romances as one particular aspect of the RPG genre that doesn't really work for him, at least in the way they're typically implemented. Sawyer's not opposed to romances in games in general, but what fantasy RPG players are into is not what he's into. "I'm out of step with that, and it's hard for me to sort of get it. And the things that I do get, I'm like, I get it—I don't like it," Sawyer said.
"If I were to make romances in a game that were done in a way that I find appealing, would an audience enjoy that, or would they really actually even hate it more than romances not being in the game?"
For Fable, I think it'll be the same as previous Fables. You will pick a male or female character, age them up and then change their appearance through in-game actions, Fable never had a proper character creator and customisation came from in-game like haircuts, beards, tattoos, scars, weight from food, stats making you bulkier, etc. I hope they keep all that stuff in.
But maybe they'll have a number of selectable pre-made characters, like a few different males, a few different females, or maybe there will be a character customisation! With obviously a female and male default option but I won't be surprised if there's no character creator at all and it's just pre-selected defaults.
