Nice. In case you've played Koudelka, it's sort of a prequel to Shadow Hearts. But not necessary to enjoy the story of SH.
Just keep in mind that Shadow Hearts 1 was originally in development for PS1. They shifted over to PS2 later in production, which can be noticed in the visuals.
The atmosphere in SH1 is one of my favorites, along with Shin Megami Tensei 3 and Majora's Mask.
