About the parades, well, I read a collumn from a well known gay in the Netherlands. He wrote that he was watching the parade with his partner as some sort of outing, when he was approached by a young gay man stating: "I know, you older guys love this. It's a statement, it's wild and it's nostalgia to the old days... For me and for us, it's growing a bit too much..."
So you can conclude that there is some sort of split between the older generation and the "attention seekers" (different demographs), and the younger, more reserved gay people.
