I've seen similar caliber graphics in many other titles this generation. More of that does not exactly make me drop my jaw in excitement. Atmosphere and art are "realistic space cinematics 101" to me, but I guess to each their own. Sound is... ok, I guess? What qualifies as "excellent sound" in a trailer to you? Are you talking about the music? Because if so, I guess the retro music is cool. Not that it makes me excited about the game... Hmm... I don't know. That "mystery" is completely decontextualized and has no meaning to me at all. I'm sorry for not being intrigued about finding out how good a triple A studio that has been doing action games for 30 years can be at making a sword combat system. I don't know, maybe if they actually had SHOWN how it plays I would have something to be excited about. But the truth is, they haven't shown a game. They have shown a random cinematic of their game, with zero gameplay and little to no plot. It's in space, it has a girl as a protagonist, there is a mysterious planet and some alien she's about to cut with a laser sword. That's it. |
You said the only thing there to make "people" excited was ND name, I gave you some reasons why it excited me, if you agree or not is beyond the point you tried to make, as I and others have voiced said reasons you said we, the people, would not have. Upon reading your other replies, can I ask you what did you think about the new Onimusha, Okami and Fumito Ueda game announcements? Pathetic and sad as well? Or are you perhals excited to know more about any of those, by any chance? |
My initial comment was more in line with "they are showing a completely new IP with no gameplay or plot exposition, but they made sure to slap their resume on the trailer. That's sad". Usually, when you reveal a new IP you want to tell people what the game is about, what genre it is, etc. That's how people know they are interested. Can you be excited about the graphics and the 80s song? Absolutely, I never told you to not be excited. My response to you was aimed to explain why (to me) those things are secondary in terms of showing a new IP.
