People get excited by their favourite studios announcing new games all the time, they also get excited by CG trailers that tell us nothing, some even get excited by only a title card, Lmao. It doesn't really bother me, the industry is negative enough as it is, let people be excited by things, Naughty Dog is a studio with millions of adoring fans so of course when they announce something new, it's going to generate excitement based on their name alone, if From Software released a 5 second teaser for their next game tomorrow you'd have thousands of people trying to decipher everything about it and jumping for joy at a new From Software title being announced, Lol. Calling it pathetic and sad is harsh, Imo.

Just a clarification: I never called the people being excited by the trailer any of those things. People can be excited by whathever they want. My words were adressing the trailer itself and the intentions behind the people making it. The sad and pathetic thing is that they have put together a 4 + minutes trailer of a new IP with no gameplay or actual story in it, but got out of their way to list the entire Naughty Dog resume, knowing very well that it's the only redeeming quality about the video.

Or at least that's how I see it. Obviously, people can be excited by the graphics, by the protagonist or by the glorified compact disk player. I don't really care.

Ah, I misread it in that case then and upon rereading it with your clarification I can see that is what you meant now, my bad.

But as for the clarification, I don't really mind that either, Lol. Never really bothered me how or when a developer announces their game as long as it's their decision (not the publishers) as at the end of the day it is their game and there are actually decent reasons for announcing titles early too, a major one being hiring purposes, I tend to just forget about the games until they show them again, Lol.
