do you think it is “sad and pathetic” when ppl get excited over teaser trailers? B/c that’s pretty much what you’re saying here. I don’t know what point you’re trying to make by asking me to show where you explicitly called these game reveals “masterclasses”. My intent was to provide examples of game reveals which generally are considered to be among the greatest in recent memory. Same could be said about it Smash Bros Ultimate back in March 2018: No gameplay, only a glimpse, yet so impactful.

Again: I didn't say that people feeling excitement about X or Y is sad or pathetic. Please, it's the second time in the same thread that you put words in my mouth that are not mine.

What you said: “The fact that the only thing this trailer has to make people excited about the game is the studio’s self inserted resume is frankly quite pathetic and sad…”

(so yes, you actually did say “people feeling excitement about X or Y is sad and pathetic”. Substitute ‘X’ for ‘game reveals in which the only thing shown is the dev studio behind it’, and this is your og comment.)

Here’s my point: In order for you to make such a claim, it is necessary that you believe game trailers need more than a dev’s resume in order to be worthy of excitement. Otherwise, it’s “pathetic and sad”. So, I am asking the question: What is necessary for a trailer to be worthy of excitement w/o being “sad and pathetic”? Because the way it sounds to me is that game reveals such as SSBU, FFVII Remake, and (especially) Emio should all be considered “pathetic and sad” excitement since they don’t show much other than a name & a dev/publishing studio. Where are you drawing the line btwn reveals worthy of excitement and not? And why?
