I just put on this game's OST to get me in the mood to talk about it, and just listening to it and remembering how it felt to experience it for the first time has gotten me so nostalgic. This was the Pokémon game I went into like "oh look, another crappy Pokémon game I'm sure this one will be the worst one yet" but by the end I was just completely blown away. It still blows me away just thinking about it, and it's always disappointing to think of how this series reverted every step forward Black & White took and has basically never improved on those ever again. Sure, I enjoyed the next couple games after this one, even loved one of them, but it's undeniable that this one had the best storyline in the entire franchise. And man, having a good story in a Pokémon game was great. Nowadays people say you gotta "ignore the story" to enjoy a Pokémon game (kinda hard to ignore endlessly long unskippable cutscenes that get in the way of everything), but Black & White was the one time you played a Pokémon game for the story, and it ruled.
