Unguessed
This may be the only game to go unguessed this year and it's not exactly a surprise, given how relatively unknown it is. I suppose rhythm games can never be mainstream, but I still think this should be more well known, because it's so ridiculously good. People often throw out the word "masterpiece" out hyperbolically, or nowadays they'll use "flawed masterpiece" to avoid making a controversial statement, but either way: Thumper is a masterpiece. And not a flawed one. This game is basically perfect at everything it tries to do. It has some of the best audio and visual design I've seen while somehow being only like 700mb and could probably run at 60fps on a calculator. Unlike most rhythm games, which have you playing along to the music, Thumper has the music playing along to you (or rather, the level design), and it feels visceral and fast-paced and thoroughly amazing throughout. I literally have zero complaints, this game is flawless.
