There are always comparisons between videogame characters taken in intentionally awkward poses or pulling silly faces compared to the models photo which are often taken in a professional setting and digitally edited on top of the makeup they're already wearing.

The legit funniest thing I've seen on the subject is just before Dragon Age Veilguard released, people were using the custom character creator, basically sliding everything to the left and then saying "East game makers" Showing Eve, then "American game makers" showing their created monstrosity. It was stupid and it's done fit their narrative. Some people have already decided so much about this character in Intergalatic from what is a 15 second clip and a few voice lines. We know nothing and it was just a CG trailer.

The Instagram issue has come up a lot before, British media mentions it from time to time. The look of models in magazines certainly did used to be a a big issue and now kids are shown so much more fake content via social media, it's odd that it doesn't come up as much in news media as it used to when it was just magazines.

Hmm, pie.
