They've giving Alawites the proper respect in words at least, I think Europe should make a genuine but cautious attempt with HTS, don't need to trust them but if they are saying they will do all these things then what is the harm in at least trying, if they're bullshitting us then fine, we tried, if they aren't bullshitting us then we can help bring some stability to the region. The militia factions will need to unite under a proper government control and the Kurdish factions should be allowed to remain free and independent, meanwhile we should tell Türkiye to fuck off. I think it's worth attempting some sort of dialogue before Russia and Türkiye try to fuck up the region even more.

Okay, you're saying all this stuff, so prove it and we will reward you in return, you moderate yourselves and make genuine attempts at unity then we will lift sanctions one by one, destroy the chemical weapons and we will restore diplomatic relations and can seek justice against Assad together, keep improving the situation and we will keep improving our relations with Syria. Show proper government leadership and we will recognise you as a proper government. This is probably the best we're going to get, might as well at least try to improve things.
