Assad's forces have retreated from Hama...Probably ahead of expectations...One more city (Homs) and Assad/Damascus will be cut off from Russia's major bases in Syria. This is really showing just how weak Assad's hold on the country was without Russia there to protect him. Russia was bombing rebels in Hama yesterday but it hasn't slowed them down. If Assad falls then those Russian bases will be next.
The city of Hama has fallen, even the Syrian MOD just released a statement saying all forces "withdrew from the city." Huge opp attack in the morning. Two main cities in one week. That concludes the battle for Hama.

Major defeat for the Assad government. It just took few days to capture a major city which was fortified with reinforcements https://t.co/4A3bPlSoJq pic.twitter.com/M21MVJDGph
