Nobody cares about a "stradegy", everyone cares about SALES! Does vgchartz compare the sales of Xbox, Playstation and Switch? YES OR NO?

Yes? Then all 3 are competing with each other! Only because the PS5 will never catch the Switch's LTD of 155 million minimum does not mean its no competition.

Germany beat Brazil 7:1 in the 2014 world cup. Was Germany playing for a "different audience" that year?🤣😂 Spain (the team nearly everyone expected to win the world Cup in 2014) got fucked up by the Netherlands 5:1, despite all teenie girlies wet fantasies of Spain winning the World Cup. Did anyone say the Netherlands played for a "different group of people"? Did anyone say Carsias, Xabi Alonso... are better known players than Arien Robben, Stefan De Frey or Van Persie (wichs 1:0 Kill as the flying Duch Man went in the history book as one of the most beautifull goals of all time?) Does anyone critisise the comparision between Miroslav Klose the world cup record goal scorer with Lionel Messi only because he is not very well known?Only because Messi won't catch Klose?

Thats what i am refering to. The same it is with gaming. The better gaming system wins. There is no "different audience" just because Playstation is not Nr.1 anymore. Now so many people loudly shout that a rumored not even confirmed Playstation handheld would outsell the Switch for sure despite the fact it will be digital only if they really release one. If this handheld fails to do it again after a 3rd try, is this Playstation handheld also a so called "diferent audience" just because its not Nr.1?🤣😂 We all are gamers so all 3 systems can be compared full stop!!

There's been threads within VGC that have talked about strategy between the companies, so yes, it matters. Nin's blue ocean strategy, or XB's power strategy, etc, get brought up all the time, so yes, people care about a strategy.

More importantly, has that XB power strategy focus not been part of the reason why their sales are declining, and why Nin's change to blue ocean strategy is part of the reason why their sales have been so successful more recently?

I'm not saying Switch couldn't be the best selling gaming device of all time as per VGC. It may very well attain that title and if it does then there's nothing wrong with that. You don't beat PS2 sales without being one heck of a gaming device.

All my point was, based on your prior post I replied to and this thread topic, is that it's not uncommon for people, to be inconsistent in their beliefs about gaming, like you had pointed out yourself.

Since the PS3 people always said: "Wait till PS3 becomes cheaper, it will beat the Wii." Guess what? It became cheaper. Did it surpass it? No. You think that if the Xbox Series X was 300€/$ it would outsell the Switch? Not even if they did not release any of their games on PC. Xbox could never ever just come close to it. Sony's PS Vita was priced 250$. The same that the 3DS was on its launch. Did it surpass it? No. Yes i know the 3DS was 169$ when Vita released, but let me tell you: A person that can afford a 169$ gaming device, can also afford a 250$ device. 80$ do not make a determine in 50 million+ or - sales. Thinking that is just redicolous.

The Vita had the best launchlineup of any handheld system in history! Thats an undeniable fact, not the Vitafanboy in me speaking! It had good word of mouth, had a well known name, in japan it was an enormous sucess. Wipeout, Uncharted Golden Abbys, Little Deviants (a game showcasing the Vita's abilities just like the to this date Vita exclusive Rear Touch NO SMARTPHONE HAS EVEN TODAY BECAUSE SONY TO THIS DAY HAS A PATENT ON IT), Reality Fighters... just to name a few. Me alone i bought 8 physical games day 1!

The 3DS had the worse launchlineup of any handheld in history, bad word of mouth, low power- only a bit better than the PSP wich was 6 years old at that point, it had to be cut in price 40% only half a year into its lifecycle+ Mario Kart 7 for it even to take a bit of, people calling it DOA, yet it had a slightly better start launch alligend. (~1,3 million vs ~1,1 million WW) was on the market 10 years outselling the Vita 4:1. Different Target group? I don't think so.
