That thing is a PC that can turn into a home console if you flash an OS like Bazzite on it. I recently bought a Beelink to do exactly that.

There is no display on it. I am talking about the dock as it has a slot on it for a graphics card. My point is, what if a handheld system comes out, and is designed to work with a dock that can have a graphics card built into it. I feel that would be a true Hybrid system, but because we've already given that distinction away to a passthrough box/cable there is no category that we can put it in.  

That would make it an even better hybrid. But switch is still a hybrid. It gets a boost while docked, gives a full home console experience, etc.

The dock isn't responsible for the boosting though. It's just the switch recognising that it was put in the dock and switching to a different power profile. It's the switch that boosts itself, not the dock boosting the switch. The graphics card however would be actively functioning so how can they be put in the same category. If you put a graphics card in an old AGP slot and get bad performance and then take it out and put it in an PCI-E and get better performance,  you don't say the PCI-E is a hybrid interface because it allows the GPU to run better. You don't give credit to the PCI-E for boosting the performance of the card. It was just the AGP holding it back. Same thing with the switch. It's downclocked to run as a handheld, and then upclocked when docked. The switch is capable of both clock rates without the dock though.

Oh. That. I don't count overclocking as a feature for the Switch because that involves hacking the console. 

I'm not saying it's a feature, I'm just saying the hackers have clearly proven the switch is capable of running with higher clocks, dock or no dock. If Nintendo wanted to include a feature where you could increase the clocks without the dock, it would be very easily doable for them in an update. They just don't need to because the switch screen is 720p and most TV's are 1080p or 4k. So, they keep the feature exclusive to the dock solely because it's not necessary with a 720p output.
