There might be less war, but in the process there will be more death.
Americans might kill less people in the world, thus less war. But, authoritarian countries will take advantage and seize more power, killing anyone who might fight for freedom.
These countries build up their strength and then start wars when their preferred candidate doesn't get elected in opposing countries.
When Hitler took over Austria and Czechoslovakia, there wasn't a war and not much bloodshed. But the consequences were felt the world over.
