VR will get where it needs to go it will just take another 15-20 years before it really starts to peak its potential.

Again what it's trying to do is so much more ambitious than regular video games, our consciousness and perception of the world is everything to us, to try and basically "replace" that into a game world and do so in a way that cuts you off from your environment is just a monumental task that has so many variables that need to be ironed out.

It'll just take time and more and more iterations. Everyone wants it to explode like the iPhone or something, but not everything works like that.

VR is definitely the future - just not in current form. Not even with "glasses" VR, which are around the corner. Sure, they will make much more splash and actually might make VR equivalent in sales to "standard" gaming, but, while solving some of the current VR problems, they will still remain fairly limited experience. Still, it will be interesting to see how far it will go until we reach actual VR.

And for actual Virtual Reality we will have to wait for actual neural interfaces, cause current approach can only go so far. That is when VR takes over completely, but that is not in the near future.
