It's nothing that would make the Steam Deck irrelevant, but saying they're not offering something that the Steam Deck cannot do is a bit wrong, unless you're just referring to the software, in which case it's true. Hardware-wise, it has the joycons (and the rarely-used functionality within them. Anybody ever used the IR sensor in the joycons?) and the much lighter weight (about half of the Steam Deck), which is much easier on the arms in longer sessions, especially for kids.

Bolded: You basically just described the entire console vs PC debate in a nutshell - or on a handheld if you prefer.

That's what I mean. They have the joycons, but they still aren't fully tuned to fully be over viable than the regular control scheme that has existed for 30+yrs now, and the IR sensor is there, but again, rarely gets fully utilised.

The thing is, kids grow up to be adults, they never stay the same, tastes also tend to change (look at kids these days on their tablets/phones and going on about nothing but Fortnite/Gacha games, than core Nintendo titles or the Switch, and you know that mobile market is objectively more popular/bigger).

Also I was going off the core definition points of the Blue Ocean strategy, and point #2 is listed as "Make the Competition Irrelevant", which may sound personal/harsh, but that is what it is, and how it was defined as. I merely pasted point #2 to bring up a pitfall Nintendo has slowly been falling into (ignoring your competition, while also allowing them to emulate exactly what you are doing, thus defeating #2's strategy, because non-competition can become indirect competition and eventually, direct competition, as time goes on (and this happens whether we like it or not).
