South Beirut hit after Israeli army threat
The strike hit Beirut’s southern suburbs, footage shared by AFP shows. Earlier, we reported the newest evacuation orders from the Israeli army for the southern suburbs, known as Dahiyeh.
AFP images showed a column of smoke rising over the suburbs, already veiled in smoke from the previous day’s bombardment.
Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) is reporting that Israeli jets destroyed a 12-storey residential building in Chiyah in Dahiyeh, shortly after issuing more forced evacuation orders for the area.
NNA also reported “violent” Israeli raids on the neighbourhoods of Burj al-Barajneh and Hadath. The attack on Hadath hit near the vicinity of Saint George Hospital, it said
Videos show destruction following strike on Beirut’s Hadath
Lebanese media have posted footage showing the destruction of a building hit by an Israeli air raid in the Hadath area in the southern suburbs of Beirut.

Hezbollah says north of Haifa hit with barrage of rockets
Hezbollah says its fighters targeted the Krayot area north of the occupied city of Haifa “with a barrage of rockets”.
Meanwhile, the Israeli military said in a statement on Telegram about 20 projectiles were identified crossing from Lebanon into Israeli territory, following sirens that sounded about 10am in the Haifa Bay and western Galilee areas.
“Some of the projectiles were intercepted, and the rest fell in open areas,” it said.

One of the air attacks, Lebanon’s state media reports, targeted the vicinity of Our Lady of Salvation Church near Saint George Hospital in the Hadath area of Beirut’s southern suburb, while another strike targeted a 12-story residential building near the Mar Michael Church in the Chiyah neighbourhood of southern Beirut.
There were no immediate reports of casualties, but the attacks caused extensive damage to nearby structures.
The attacks came shortly after the Israeli army issued immediate forced evacuation orders for residents in the targeted areas.

Lebanon state media reports Israeli raid on central Beirut district
Lebanese state media has reported an Israeli raid on a central Beirut district, citing AFP. “The enemy carried out a strike on Ras al-Nabaa,” the official National News Agency said, an area near the French embassy and a university.
A security source, requesting anonymity, told AFP the strike hit “the Lebanese branch of the Syrian Baath party”, whose office is located “in an apartment”.
More Israeli strikes on southern Beirut
Our correspondent in the Lebanese capital reports that more attacks have hit Dahiyeh, specifically in the neighbourhood of Burj al-Brajneh. Israeli strikes have been pounding Beirut since the early hours of this morning, with the army issuing at least three separate evacuation orders for different areas of the southern suburbs.
