Merz is a lock to win, but until he has formed a coalition, the current government will resume its duties. Forming a coalition can take months until all involved parties agree to terms. Merz's desired partner for a coalition is Scholz's SPD, so it's a real possibility that all of Merz's current tough talk will be reduced to nothing in order for him to be appointed as chancellor. Also, I've mentioned it before that not even Merz's CDU is fully behind supplying Ukraine with Taurus. |
