Heavy clashes reported as Israeli military storms Jenin
Israeli forces have stormed Jenin and are raiding the occupied West Bank city, according to Wafa.
The Jenin Battalion of the al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad, says its “fighters are fighting fierce battles with the enemy forces” and are “showering the enemy forces with heavy volleys of bullets”.
An improvised explosive device (IED) has also been used against an Israeli military vehicle in the city, according to the Quds News Network.
As we’ve been reporting, the Jenin governorate has been subjected to intense Israeli military operations over recent hours, with six people killed in separate attacks in the towns of Qabatiya and Muthalath al-Shuhada.
Israeli forces wound, arrest man during Nablus raid
Israeli forces have shot a Palestinian man in the neighbourhood of Balata al-Balad, east of Nablus in the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Information Center reports. The man’s condition is not currently known.
As we reported earlier, the Israeli military is also engaged in violent clashes with Palestinian fighters in the city of Jenin. Those clashes continue, according to local media reports, while Israeli bulldozers are destroying infrastructure in the city.

Israeli forces injure Palestinian man during raid near Ramallah
Israeli forces have shot and injured a man while storming the village of Abu Shakhidim, northwest of Ramallah, according to Wafa. Local sources told the news agency, Yousef Thaer Qandah was shot in the foot.
The Israeli army raided houses in Birzeit, Kuber, Barham, and Abu Shakhidim, located northwest of Ramallah, as well as the town of Silwad, northeast of Ramallah, Wafa reported.
Israeli forces’ regular use of lethal force ‘a horrifying escalation’, UN agency says
The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), internationally mandated to monitor and report on human rights in the occupied Palestinian territory, has called for Israel to end its illegal occupation “as concluded by the International Court of Justice”.
“Israeli forces’ regular recourse to unlawful lethal force in the occupied West Bank is a horrifying escalation of an already explosive situation,” it said on X.
It noted that on Tuesday, in less than 23 hours, Israeli security forces killed eight Palestinian men using live ammunition, air strikes and other heavy munitions during operations in Tammun and Qabatiya in the West Bank.
On Sunday, Israeli forces shot in the abdomen and killed an unarmed 14-year-old Palestinian boy in Halhul, Hebron, in the West Bank, it said.

Israeli forces detain a dozen Palestinians in occupied West Bank: Report
Israeli forces have detained at least 12 Palestinians from the occupied West Bank since last evening, the Wafa news agency reports.
Among the detainees are a woman, an injured person and former detainees, including a detainee from Hebron who was released two days ago, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society and Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs said in a joint statement.
Arrests took place in the governorates of Hebron, Nablus, Ramallah, Tulkarem and Jerusalem, it said.
Since October 7, 2023, Israeli authorities have arrested more than 11,600 people form the occupied West Bank including Jerusalem.
Two injured in ‘attempted car-ramming’, suspect shot dead
A suspected attacker has been shot dead after allegedly crashing his car into a bus stop near the illegal Israeli settlement of Shilo and getting out with a knife, according to first responders cited by The Times of Israel newspaper.
The attack north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank appears to be an attempted car-ramming and stabbing attack, the daily reported.
Magen David Adom, Israel’s emergency medical organisation, said it is treating two civilians in their 20s who were lightly injured.
Father recalls attack on his son by Israeli military dog in West Bank
Omar Abu Zaid, a three-year-old Palestinian child, was injured after being attacked by an Israeli army dog during a raid on the town of Qabatiya in the city of Jenin, north of the occupied West Bank, Wafa news agency reports.
Journalist Shatha Hanaysha met the child’s father who, with Omar in his arms, recounted how the army released the dog the moment they raided the house when his child was sleeping.
The video taken by Hanaysha and verified by Al Jazeera’s Sanad agency shows the injuries the child sustained from the mauling.
This is not the first incident in which military dogs have attacked Palestinian civilians.
- In February 2024, Israeli forces released an attack dog on a four-year-old boy in Balata refugee camp in the northern occupied West Bank.
- In June 2024, Al Jazeera showed an Israeli military dog attacking an elderly Palestinian woman inside her home in Gaza’s Jabalia refugee camp.
- A month later, a Palestinian man, Muhammed Bhar, who had Down’s syndrome and autism, was mauled by an Israeli military dog and left to die alone.
