I find it bunny, because PCGamer is very used to just censoring their viewers on a whim, especially when it comes to politics discussion where they just straight up lock their comment sections beforehand, allowing them to spark off controversy and shit on their viewers, but not allow their viewers to call them out on their shit. Also it's not really "self censoring", they literally pissed off Japan and other people from different walks of life. To say that those people do not matter and that the company only matters is just out of touch selfish behaviour, like that of a child who refuses to say sorry for doing/saying something bad. Both game journos and Ubisoft need to get to grips with reality and stop painting the ppl they piss off on purpose as the villains. It's fucking stupid, childish and makes me wish for bankruptcy faster than ever before (because that seems to be the only way to teach a lesson these days). Edit: oh look at that, PCGamer locked their own comments section for that thread. The hypocrisy is fucking real. "rules for thee, but not for me". |
Games journalism has been like this for years, although it always seems to get progressively worse.
