The question to be asked at this point is will switch 2 pass switch 1 in sales? Especially in Japan where Switch sales are very high. I think it's very unlikely, especially if the console costs 400 dollars. I believe that Nintendo will have a big challenge with the Switch 2

Well it certainly shouldn't be judged against Switch sales, although of course it is natural to do so. I think S2 will at least pass 100m, assuming we don't find out Nintendo is doing something funky/stupid once the system is revealed. I'll predict it'll be somewhere between Wii sales and GB sales.

Only way I see it doing much better than that range is if they do something really impressive or consumer friendly that makes people flock to the system. Like having another totally groundbreaking game that is a life-long system seller the way BotW was, or get really competitive on hardware and software pricing over it's lifecycle, or vastly improve services like greatly expand the friendliness of their online, or manage to finally pick up lots of AAA third party games that release alongside their console releases that make people question why but much more expensive consoles when they can by a Switch with the same level of third party games, or it comes with some main system feature that turns out to be super popular the way Wii introduced motion controls and Switch introduced hybrid play-anywhere gaming.
