Israeli military bombs home in Deir el-Balah, killing at least 2

Israeli fighter jets have bombed a house in the al-Hadba neighbourhood in the city of Deir el-Balah in central Gaza, killing at least two people and injuring others, the Wafa news agency reports.

At least 95 people have been killed in Israeli attacks across the Gaza Strip over the past 24 hours, with around 75 of those killed in northern Gaza, where Israeli forces are carrying out a deadly weeks-long siege.

Israeli naval ships shell Gaza’s Nuseirat refugee camp

Our colleague at Al Jazeera Arabic reports that Israeli gunboats patrolling off the coast of Gaza have opened fire on the western part of the Nuseirat refugee camp, located in the central area of the Palestinian enclave.

Three bodies recovered following Israeli shelling in Nuseirat

Rescue teams have recovered three bodies following overnight Israeli shelling in the Nuseirat area of central Gaza, our Al Jazeera colleagues report. The bodies were recovered from under the rubble of the Abu Khadra family home.

Earlier, we reported that Israeli gunboats patrolling off the coast of Gaza opened fire on the western part of the Nuseirat refugee camp.

Mostly women, children among 47 killed in overnight attacks on Gaza: Report

The Palestinian news agency Wafa reports that Israeli shelling of central Gaza’s Deir el-Balah, Nuseirat refugee camp and the az-Zawayda area also left dozens wounded from the Israeli attacks on Thursday night and into Friday morning.

Most of those killed were women and children, Wafa said, as medical sources confirmed that 47 bodies were taken to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir el-Balah following the Israeli attacks.

The majority of the victims were killed in the bombing of several houses in the Nuseirat area. The same houses were hit a second time when people rushed to rescue those who survived the first strike, leading to more casualties among the rescuers, Wafa reports.

Search continues for people missing beneath the rubble, the news agency said.

Five-month-old baby among 25 people killed in central Gaza

We keep seeing bodies arriving at Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital here in Deir el-Balah from the bomb sites of the three residential homes that were hit overnight. There are 25 bodies in the hospital morgue at the moment.

As we talk to surviving family members, it’s difficult to imagine that the Israeli military has any clear objective other than the mass murder of civilians inside their homes. The latest victims include a five-month-old baby.

The baby was with his grandmother when he was killed. The grandmother survived the attack, along with other family members, including his uncle.

Another entire family – 10 members – was wiped out as they were sheltering inside one of these residential buildings.

More bodies are being recovered. The sheer level of destruction caused by the bombs is shocking.
