Its because almost all Sonic sales came from the west, Sonic has always been a minor franchise in Japan.

Ok but only 7k? Astro was already low with 13k. Digital might be high but if we estimate total launch sales for Sonic in Japan we would look at 7 k for Switch, maybe 5k for PS5 with PS4/ Xbox(one) basically inexistent with maybe 5k more we would be looking at a maximum of 17k. 1 million worldwide should put japan at around 100- 200k. 9% physical? For JAPAN? Sorry i don't quite buy that.
