Saleswise they compete. Hardware does not matter. Or would you say that the PS2 did not compete with Xbox and Gamecube? Its about comparable products. And both Sony and Nintendo have a product that plays games physically and digital. Both have games for all audiences. Vgchartz compares both on the front page. I do not wanna sound offensive here but for me this "different audience", "no competition" sounds like anger because the prefered hardware sold less.
