Yeah and it's unfortunate what they do to themselves.  I guess that dealing with life under years of soviet totalitariansm and now putin make life very bad for russians and they do this to compensate.  Even when they aren't drunk, being an alchoholic reduces your ability to control yourself and put the reigns on whatever bad behavior you might want to do... so it can be a lonely and depressing life as you push others away.
