You could say much the same about Sony though; putting Horizon Adventures on Switch is due to their shift in strategy towards trying to maximise the reach of their software and increasing revenue by selling on PC and Switch rather than prioritizing exclusivity and hardware sales. |
We found out that lego was actually the ones that approached Sony and not the other way around.
They wanted to do a Horizon do. Sony said yes, and the reason its likely not on xbox is probably because sony asked them for that.
Meanwhile sony didn't have a issue with it being on Switch (or lego asked them really nicely.... or demanded that).
sometimes that just how things work out.
Also I suspect Lego is carrying most of the work, and the bill for the game development.
In that sense, them saying to Sony, listen, we want it on switch.... and Sony giving them a okay for it, doesn't seem that extreme.

Like I keep trying to say, if Sony saw the Switch as a threat to them they wouldn't be releasing Lego Horizon adventures on there, like they aren't releasing it on Xbox or PS4. They clearly don't feel threatened by the Switch. No-one has given me an explanation for this, other than trying to reverse-logic me by using Xbox as an example , even though they have explicitly stated they aren't trying to "out-console" anyone anymore anyway.  |
The reason, is Lego is doing most of the hard lifting here, and footing the majority of the funding for the game.
They probably just said they need it on the switch for sales.
