Israel bombs Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley amid evacuation orders
We’ve seen some strikes in the southern parts of Lebanon around Tyre – a city that’s come under intense Israeli strikes. We also saw some strikes yesterday in Nabatieh.
Here, in the east of Lebanon, we saw a drone strike take place yesterday and, for the first time this week, we saw those so-called evacuation orders in the east of the country.
These are threats and warnings telling people to either leave or get bombed and that has happened in towns and villages across the east of Lebanon.
People are being displaced. They’ve been displaced from the south and they went to Beirut. People also came here, to the Bekaa Valley, seeking refuge. But the same thing is now happening here.
Hezbollah has also said that this is a new phase of the war for them. They have not given details. And Israel has increased the intensity of their air strikes, not only in the south and Beirut but also here in the east.
Israeli strikes hit dozens of southern Lebanon locations
Israel’s military has attacked dozens of southern Lebanon villages and towns overnight and targeted Nabatieh city for a third time this week.
“Warplanes struck … the city of Nabatieh seven times,” Lebanon’s official National News Agency said. It added Israeli jets “conducted strikes” on more than 50 towns and villages, reporting casualties.
Lebanese state media also reported two Israeli air strikes in the morning in Haret Hreik and one in Hadath – all in Hezbollah’s southern Beirut stronghold of Dahiyeh.
Hezbollah says launched ‘big rocket salvo’ at north Israel base
The Lebanese group says it launched a large barrage of rockets at an Israeli army base near the northern town of Safad.
Hezbollah fighters fired “a big rocket salvo” at the base, the group said, adding the attack was “in defence of Lebanon” and “in response to the Israeli enemy’s attacks on villages and homes”.
Israel has reported repeated attacks with more than 100 rockets launched from Lebanon since early this morning.
Hezbollah says it attacked Israeli troops in Lebanon border villages
The group says it fired rockets at Israeli troops in two villages inside Lebanese territory near the southern border.
Fighters from the Lebanese group launched “a rocket salvo” at Israeli “enemy forces” on the outskirts of the village of Markaba, as well as on soldiers nearby “west of the village of Odaisseh”.
Hezbollah and Israel have been in intense exchanges of fire nearly three weeks after Israel announced ground incursions into neighbouring Lebanon.
3 troops killed by Israeli attack in southern Lebanon: Army
The Lebanese military says three of its soldiers have been killed in an Israeli air strike on their vehicle.
The troops were killed on a road connecting the border village of Ain Ebel to the nearby town of Hanine. The latest deaths bring the number of troop casualties to eight killed since an all-out war erupted between Israel and Hezbollah last month.
