And missing out experiencing it together without spoilers...
It's very different playing a game for the first time going in blind, then now with so much footage and opinions freely available, or playing retro games that have been fully 'solved' long ago. That's why you have to be in the moment, rather than playing older games nowadays, even though it's easier nowadays.
(VR does still give that going in blind experience as those are mostly ignored by the media...)
