Considering the 5090 should be 820+ mm² (near maximum reticle size) and it's doubtful TSMC has made things any cheaper than they were two or three years ago... I don't see it as being less than $1999 unless Nvidia wants to take a smaller cut on profits.
Who knows, though, maybe defect density dropped enough for it to be slightly cheaper than that. Slightly.
