Pre-built the cheapest I see is this

https://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/asus-rog-g16chr-gaming-pc-grey-intel-core-i7-14700f-1tb-ssd-32gb-ram-rtx-4070-win-11-only-at-best-buy/17685911

CAD 2,100 (700 dollars off atm, on sale) and has terrible reviews.

PS5 Pro is CAD 960 here, the drive CAD 100. But that includes a controller (which are CAD 95 here now)

So yeah, about half the price of a pre-built (crappy) PC.

What do you think of the video I posted here:
https://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=9545899

Well it's not a 4070 to start with, plus 8GB VRAM won't match the PS5 capabilities.
Still missing mouse, KB, OS which do come with a pre-built.

Checking that build on newegg.ca

  • Est. Total: $1,464.00

The GPU ships from China, probably gonna be brokerage fees on top and take up to a month.
Add KB+Mouse+OS, time to click together, install, troubleshoot.

That's the cheapest options with lots of savings.

How much extra is the Best Buy pre-built compared to newegg.ca

  • Est. Total:$2,015.76 (I included KB+Mouse+OS, all cheapest options, to make it comparable, CAD 212 in savings)

So you save CAD 85 to put it together yourself after waiting for shit to arrive from different places, including China, and likely getting hit by brokerage fees, and having to deal with different warranties.

I guess you can click and search until you find more deals to get it cheaper. I'll pick up a pro on Nov 2nd which also instantly plays the games I own instead of having to wait for non optimal PC ports ;)

I have had nothing but bad experiences with Purolator, UPS, anything that comes from across the border is cursed. Even the UPS delivery man apologizes when he comes to deliver something with another nonsense CAD 100+ brokerage fee attached, ready to take it back for refusal...
The only delivery service I trust is Amazon's own fleet. As soon as it says 3rd party shipping, I'm out. Ordering a list like that from all over the place will trigger my anxiety for a month :/
