There's nothing about Ash though.

A Pokemon anime movie often stars Ash, and it is a logical reference to put there as a substitution for the similarly famous Logan/Wolverine. Using the name of the script protagonist wouldn't work to lampshade what we don't need as a older aimed movie. 

'Pokemon Reign' doesn't quite have the same ring to it, nor does Ash have radioactive semen to give his love interest cancer with, for another edgy what-if future story comparison.
