I don't blame them for renaming, the 343 name has been drug through so much mud over the years, better to start fresh with a new name since the studio has been under new leadership for a few years already. Halo on UE5 looks good, but I don't really like them just remaking Halo 1 instead of continuing the story, this had better just be part of a new remake series of the older games and not a full on reboot of the series, I won't mind if they just go back and forth between brand new games in the series and remakes of 1-3, ODST, and Reach, or something like that, but we need the original storyline continuing to push forward to a conclusion.

Remaking Halo CE would likely be a way to get everyone up to speed on Halo on Unreal Engine, it would be less risky than diving into a new title straight the way on a completely new engine, it would be easier to achieve as Halo CE has already been recently remastered (Halo 3 is now the most outdated) and remaking Halo 2 would be a strange choice.

All of Halo CE is already done so it's just a case of transitioning it over to Unreal Engine and seeing how it feels, developers can learn from it as well. It'd be similar to Coalition starting with remastering Gears of War instead of jumping straight into Gears 4, this could be a good test bed for the new team. Of course, they could change stuff too, Halo CE Remaster wasn't well received by some Halo diehards for certain changes to the art and atmosphere.

Or this Halo CE Remake rumour could simply be bullshit, I would not be surprised if insiders saw that Halo CE Chief model in the Unreal Engine footage and jumped to the conclusion of a Halo CE Remake is happening, it wouldn't be the first time insiders have jumped to conclusions, I'm leaning more towards that is what has happened here now because that is the CE Chief model, but then again, it could be the CE Chief model because they're doing a Halo CE Remake, Lol.

I got Visions of Mana and decided to get it on Xbox Series X. Playing a Mana game on Xbox is surreal. Loving the game so far.

As someone who finally started playing Persona in 2021 and wants to break into SMT, it's surreal that Persona 3 Reload is on Game Pass day and date.

Xbox hardware may be struggling, but it seems more contemporary and past JRPGs are coming than ever.

They definitely are, despite the slowness of Square Enix, Japanese Xbox support is very strong lately.

I don’t really know what to think about all these changes. On one hand, I feel a genuine desire to wipe the slate clean after the mixed reception of Halo 5 and the complicated release of Halo Infinite. I found the Slipspace Engine impressive and I think Halo Infinite is perfect in terms of artistic direction. I hope they don’t do another 180 on this point. I’m afraid the franchise will really start from scratch with a complete reboot and that it will no longer be the flagship of Xbox. For me, there’s no Xbox without Halo and vice versa.

I see people really excited about all this, wich is, infortunately, not my emotion right now. Maybe I'm too pessimist with all the bad news the brand face in 2024, and I truly hope I'm wrong.

I think Pierre said this isn't a completely blank slate. He said that Bungie is Chapter 1, 343 is Chapter 2 and Halo Studios is Chapter 3, Chapter 1-2 wasn't a reboot, it's a turning of the page and into a new chapter, that doesn't mean reboot.
