Rockets hit Israeli port city of Haifa
The Israeli army says that five rockets launched from Lebanon hit the port city of Haifa. Israeli media reported that at least five people were wounded after a restaurant, a house and a main road were hit.
Sirens also sounded in the northern city of Tiberias.
The army also said alerts were activated in the Upper Galilee area after detecting 15 rockets. “Some” of them were intercepted.

‘By attacking Haifa, Hezbollah is sending a message’
Elijah Magnier, a military and security analyst, says the attack on Haifa is particularly dangerous as the city hosts not only a naval base but also a chemical industry.
“Targeting the harbour, it’s a different message that Hezbollah is sending to the Israelis and [it] is saying that they can cause even further damage, not only on the military infrastructure that is in Haifa but also on the chemical products here,” Magner told Al Jazeera.
Ugh last thing the area needs is a chemical disaster. Ceasefire now.
Haifa attacks something the Israelis didn’t want happening
This is the first time residents of Haifa have seen rockets land inside the city.
We’re hearing that five people have been injured in the attack.
Haifa is the largest city in northern Israel with about 300,000 residents. More importantly and more strategically, it has a port, oil refinery and industrial complexes. It’s considered a prime target and this attack is something that the Israelis didn’t want happening. It could impact a lot of sectors here in Israel.
