Well I thought it was because I heard someone on last stand media say it. Now I wonder if I misquoted/misheard them or what. This is all I could find but it is their most profitable gen and we are only half way through it.

https://www.techradar.com/gaming/consoles-pc/sony-says-the-ps5-is-the-companys-most-profitable-console-generation-ever-but-the-ps4-still-counts-for-half-of-its-player-base

Thanks for providing that link.  Certainly Sony still is on top, but not at the level you stated.  I do think it is relevant for the discussion here that the thread title is whether Sony's image is "starting" to stain.  Sony has enjoyed a generation and a half (maybe even two as their late PS3 reputation was pretty stellar) of positive public image.  This thread is just asking whether that trajectory is beginning to dip in the other direction.  I think it's hard to argue against the premise that Sony has indeed lost some of its luster, especially in light of their recent missteps with Concord.  Certainly it probably won't matter too much in the long run, but in the war with Microsoft it is a rare L for Sony in the eyes of consumers.

ppl hate on Sony decisions every couple of years. There's nothing new here except ppl trying to do it again haha

no one is going to care about PS5 Pro price and Concord bombing like a year later.
