Israel again targets Lebanon’s capital

The latest attack took place after a night of repeated air raids on Beirut’s densely populated southern areas.

“Israeli aircraft targeted the southern suburbs with a strike,” Lebanon’s official National News Agency reported. Smoke could be seen rising from the blast scene.

Israel’s intensified air campaign against Hezbollah has upended the country. More than 1,000 people have been killed in Israeli attacks since September 17, nearly one-quarter women and children, according to the Health Ministry.

Hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes, sleeping on beaches and streets.

Hezbollah carries out several attacks against Israeli forces near the border

We’ve had three major Hezbollah attacks today. One was in the town of Odaisseh, which will be seen as a victory for Hezbollah.

Israeli forces came into Lebanese territory but were repelled in ground fighting. It was an ambush that forced the Israelis back. This particular town is where some of the fiercest artillery bombardment and air attacks took place after Israel announced its ground offensive.

Hezbollah also bombed the Shtula settlement, where Israeli forces are staging on the border, and hit a large infantry force in the Misgav Am settlement with missiles and artillery.

Hezbollah is still able to fight back and it’s looking to draw Israeli forces on the ground so it can ambush them. It has the upper hand in guerrilla and insurgency tactics. This is something Hezbollah is very good at.
