Chrono Trigger is somewhat overrated imo, but it's a LOT more than "just fine", and certainly better than FF9, Persona 5 and even Persona 3. Did you notice that we have moderately different opinions on JRPG's :P

The general consensus top 5 Final Fantasy games are 4, 6, 7, 9 and 10 with 6 and 7 taking the lead (I agree on the top two. 4 is my 3rd favorite!).

It's fine, lots of specific tastes will never really align, afterall.

I love FF9, 6 will have to work very hard to top it for me, but who knows.

I'm happy every single one of them have platinum trophies, tho.

Is the combat too slow?  I beat LOD last year (hadn't played it before that) and while I had fun with it, I didn't love it by any means.  The combat was good, the story didn't hook me at all like the early FF games and Chrono.
