Two drones launched towards Eilat, injuries reported

The Israeli army says defence systems intercepted a drone coming from the “east” while another one fell inside the port city of Eilat.

“Two unmanned aerial vehicles [UAVs] were detected approaching the Eilat area from the east. A missile ship of the navy … intercepted one UAV, and the fall of another UAV was identified in the Eilat area”, the army said in a statement.

Israeli media earlier reported sirens sounding in Eilat. Israeli first responders reported two minor injuries from the attack.

Islamic Resistance in Iraq claims drone attacks on Israel

Islamic Resistance in Iraq called for intensified attacks on Israel as it claimed responsibility for an attack by two unmanned aerial vehicles on the southern city of Eilat.

In a statement on Telegram, it said the attacks were “in support of the people in Palestine and Lebanon and in response to the massacres” committed by Israel.

The Israeli army said it intercepted a drone launched towards Eilat from “the east”, adding another fell inside the port city. Two people were slightly wounded.

Earlier, Iraq’s Kataib Hezbollah spokesperson Abu Ali al-Askari issued an appeal for ramped-up operations against Israel. “We hope factions in the Islamic Resistance, which support Palestine and Lebanon, will increase the number and severity of their operations,” Askari said.
