One killed in Israeli strike on southern Lebanon

Lebanon’s Health Ministry has issued a statement saying a Syrian national was killed in an Israeli strike in Wadi Hamool, southern Lebanon.

Israeli army says more Hezbollah targets attacked

The Israeli army says it launched more attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. Our colleagues on the ground reported more than 15 attacks on southern Lebanon in 15 minutes.

The Israeli Broadcasting Authority said the Israeli army is asking the residents of Safad, the occupied Golan Heights and the Upper Galilee to stay near the protected areas.

Israel imposes restrictions on flights in its north

The Israeli airspace from the coastal city of Hadera and northward is closed, according to The Times of Israel citing Israel’s aviation authority.

The notice is valid for 24 hours and largely only affects recreational and agricultural flights, the report said, adding that it does not apply to emergency fights by the military, police, firefighters, medical evacuations or flights servicing oil rigs.

Hezbollah under ‘incredible amount of pressure’

At least 30 attacks have been carried out on southern Lebanon, 15 of them in 15 minutes. These were all air strikes against rocket launchers and other infrastructure, putting an incredible amount of pressure on Hezbollah.

The pressure is on and things are very much escalating.

Hezbollah claims several rocket attacks against Israeli forces

Hezbollah has claimed targeting the headquarters of the Al-Sahl Battalion in the Beit Hillel barracks with a salvo of Katyusha rockets, the group said in a statement.

The group also claimed to bomb the positioning centre of the 631st Reconnaissance Battalion of the Golani Brigade in the Ramot Naftali barracks with a volley of Katyusha rockets.

It said it targeted the main air defence missile base of the Northern Region Command in the Beria barracks with another volley of Katyusha rockets.

Israeli army says it ‘almost completely dismantled’ Hezbollah leadership

The Israeli army has issued a statement claiming it significantly weakened Hezbollah’s leadership, a day after an attack on Beirut’s southern suburb killed top commander Ibrahim Aqil.

“Hezbollah’s military chain of command has been almost completely dismantled,” the military said on X.

An image of the Lebanese group’s command chain posted alongside the statement featured the group’s leader Hassan Nasrallah at the top of the pyramid.

Below him were eight names the Israeli army says are top commanders within the organisation. Six of them, including Aqil and Fuad Shukr – a Hezbollah official killed in an Israeli air strike on Beirut in July –  had a red tag that said “eliminated”.

• Ahmed Wahbi, identified by Hezbollah and the Israeli army as the head of the group’s training unit and a former commander of the Radwan Force
• Samer Halawi, commander of the coastal region
• Abbas Muslimani, commander of the Qana region
• Abdullah Hijazi, commander of the Ramim Ridge region
• Muhammad Reda, commander of the Khiam region
• Hassan Madi, commander of the Mount Dov region
• Hassan Abd al-Satar, head of operations
• Hussein Hadraj, chief of staff

Sounds successful in theory, in practice assassinations have never solved anything. Yet hopefully things can simmer down now? Seems unlikely :/

Death toll in Beirut strike rises to 37

Lebanon’s ministry of health has said the death toll from Friday’s strike on Beirut’s southern suburb has reached 37 people. It added that rescue efforts were still ongoing as more remained trapped under the rubble.

Israel, Lebanon exchange most intense cross-border fire since October

Israeli officials say they have launched at least 80 raids on weapons installations belonging to Hezbollah and in turn, Hezbollah launched at least 45 rockets on northern Israel.

This exchange is the most intense since the two sides started engaging in cross-border fire on October 8, a day after Israel launched its war on Gaza.

Also a day after Hamas and others invaded Israel and killed 695 civilians out of 1,139 total deaths. (Some were 'friendly' fire, yet they would still be alive if Hamas had not invaded) Hezbollah was rather quick to join in. Israel immediately started bombing Gaza too. All waiting to go at each other's throat :/ That's not a status quo to go back to.
