You're misreading my POV.  My 1st response was more about examining VersusEvil's tone/approach and breaking it down from there.  Anyways...

-What I mean with "outside the original controversy" is that Yasuke's contested profile did exist before AC: Shadows was announced.  I'm just making a separation between Shadows' issues and the broader conversation around Yasuke.

-But that's not what I said!  I'm literally breaking down how this reflects poorly on Wikipedia.  Their collective mindset seems to be "prop up disputed historical claims, so long as it upsets the bad people."  

My bad. I didn't think there was a great controversy around Yasuke before modern video game dev wanted to put modern propaganda into modern video game. If there was that much controversy to begin with, I only wonder how that author got away with their fake historical novel for so long.

Anyway, to anyone still calling people out for making an issue over this, I'll ignore all the manifold evidence about Ubisoft's lies for now. I only have one simple train of thought to offer:

If having a black guy as your protagonist for a game set in feudal Japan isn't a big deal, why did they do it in the first place? Why would they find any sort of excuse to make this happen? Do you think this was to make fans of the games happy? Do you think it was to make the people of Japan happy? Who did any of this serve in the first place?

(If you truly believe this was someone's creative inspiration, I will pray for you)
