Netanyahu dismisses reports of possible ceasefire deal: Report
Netanyahu tells Fox News that reports of a possible ceasefire deal being reached are a “false narrative”.
During the interview with the US news channel, Netanyahu said Israel had agreed to several deals but Hamas had “consistently said no to every one of them”.
“They don’t agree to anything: not to the Philadelphi Corridor, not to the keys of exchanging hostages for jailed terrorists, not to anything,” he said, adding that Hamas wants Israel out of Gaza so that it can take the enclave “as they vowed to do”.
The Israeli leader also reiterated that the only way to ensure Israel’s security was through controlling the Philadelphi Corridor, and he claimed that most of the Israeli public supports the plan to remain at the Gaza-Egypt border in the future.
Lying as usual but Fox will present it all as truth.
Majority of Israelis support leaving Philadelphi Corridor to secure captive deal
A poll reported on by Israeli public broadcaster Kan finds that 53 percent of people surveyed support leaving the Philadelphi Corridor if it means reaching a deal with Hamas to release the remaining Israeli captives held in the Gaza Strip.
Hamas official says group is still committed to Biden ceasefire proposal
Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya has said the group “affirms” its commitment to US President Joe Biden’s ceasefire proposal and he again accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of continuing to “evade the obligation to reach a deal”.Al-Hayya said that the world has come to believe that the party obstructing the deal is “committing massacres and setting conditions”.“The policy of military escalation and committing more massacres to release prisoners by force has proven to be a failure. The US administration must abandon its blind bias towards Israel if it wants to reach a deal and commit it to the agreements,” he said.He added that Hamas will not agree to a deal that does not stop the aggressions or gives “legitimacy to an Israeli presence in Gaza”."We support the valiant resistance, appreciate its heroism and will, and pledge to stand firm at the negotiating table,” Al-Hayya said.
‘Biggest obstacle’ to deal is Hamas, White House says
US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby says the “biggest obstacle” to a ceasefire deal is Hamas as Netanyahu remains steadfast on having Israeli forces remain in the Philadelphi Corridor.During a news briefing, Kirby added that the killing of six captives whose bodies were found by Israel at the weekend had made achieving a deal harder.Israel has accused Hamas of killing the captives last week, an accusation Hamas has denied. It has said Israel killed them in an air strike.
The biggest obstacle is US' ironclad support for genocide.
