Even that’s not a guarantee considering The Avengers was also known as a pretty massive flop. At least Rivals seems to have a roster of more than 12 characters (though a bit odd there are none of the fantastic four playable). 

True, but there are several notable differences. The Avengers was a live service looter game when the entire gaming community was expecting something like Insomniac's Spider-Man or Rocksteady's Batman Arkham style Action-Adventure games. I had quite a few in my discord server get refunds the day of release because the game was nothing like what they were expecting. 

Comparatively with Marvel Rivals, along with it being F2P, the game is anything but subtle about what it is. It's Overwatch with Marvel characters lol. I know the playtest was pretty successful. Reached over 50K concurrent players just on Steam. But yeah, while it's anything but a guarantee as OW2 is still insanely popular. Over 50 million active players reported back in January, we have seen cases where a game blows up, then almost immediately craters.
