Since you mentioned Bayo 3, I think Astral Chain fits the bill here.  Very generic looking, at least IMO, but an absolutely amazing experience.  

Bayo 3 did disappoint me a bit, but only in the sense that I went in hoping for an amazing 10/10 and got a very good 8/10 instead. 

It's still probably the most fun I had with a game in 2022 though, just for the insane setpieces, kickass soundtrack and fluid combat. 

I like Viola a lot. Dorky punk rock girl. Then again I have been loving the insertion of punk characters in humor action games for the better part of a decade now. From NMH. Sunset Overdrive. Bayo 3 and more.
