Israeli forces kill Palestinian child in Tulkarem

The Wafa news agency is reporting that the Palestinian child was killed after being shot in the head by an Israeli sniper in the Tulkarem refugee camp in the occupied West Bank. The agency identified the victim as Mohamed Kanaan. It said the Israeli sniper also shot Kanaan’s father in his waist.

The incident comes as Israeli forces raided Tulkarem for a second time this week. The soldiers are also laying siege to the Jenin refugee camp for a seventh day. At least 30 Palestinians have been killed since Israel’s large-scale incursion into the occupied West Bank began last week.

Clashes, arrests as Israeli forces raid Hebron

The Wafa news agency is reporting that Israeli forces fired live rounds, rubber bullets and tear gas during a raid on the Hebron governorate, in the southern occupied West Bank, causing dozens of people to suffocate.

The raids took place in the town of Sa’ir and the Fawwar refugee camp, the agency reported. It said the Israeli forces also arrested two young men from Fawwar and beat them severely. The soldiers also seized agricultural fertiliser from Sa’ir.

Earlier in the night, Israeli forces arrested three more people in Sa’ir, Wafa reported.

Palestinian fighters in Jenin clash with Israeli troops

The Jenin Battalion of al-Quds Brigades, a Palestinian armed group, said its fighters are confronting Israeli forces in the Jenin governorate of the occupied West Bank, including with guns and improvised explosive devices.

The battalion, in posts on Telegram, said it achieved “direct hits” on the Israeli troops.

Israeli settlers storm Al-Aqsa Mosque compound

A group of Israeli settlers has entered the courtyard of the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound escorted by Israeli forces, the Palestinian Wafa news agency is reporting. The report, quoting witnesses, said the settlers conducted “provocative tours” within the grounds.

Meanwhile, Israeli security forces ramped up security in the Old City, including around the entrances to the compound. Extreme right-wing Israelis have stepped up their actions at the holy site in recent months, threatening a tenuous status quo.

In July, Israel’s National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir entered the mosque, in a move that was widely condemned by the international community.
