Fourteen Palestinians killed in Jenin as Israeli siege enters fifth day
The Wafa news agency is reporting that Israeli forces have killed at least 14 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin and its refugee camp as they press on with their “aggressive military campaign” for a fifth day.
Dozens more have been wounded and detained, it reported.
“The city and its refugee camp remain under a stringent blockade imposed by Israeli forces, who have reinforced their military presence in the area,” the agency said.
Israeli forces have raided numerous homes, subjected residents to “harsh” interrogations and caused “extensive damage to civilian properties, public and private facilities, and critical infrastructure, including water and electricity networks”, it said.
The infrastructure damage has resulted in power outages in several areas, it added, citing the Jenin Municipality.

Israeli bulldozers keep wrecking Jenin roads
The sound of bulldozers digging up a major road here in Jenin is very loud. Inside the refugee camp, Palestinians tell us the level of damage is even worse. This is not the first time we’ve seen Israeli forces destroy and demolish roads and homes, but this is definitely on a different scale.
Palestinians say the main goal of this military operation, the largest in more than two decades, is destruction. They say this is not a security-related necessity. It is to remind Palestinians of the cost they will incur if they choose to resist the Israeli military’s occupation.
However, Palestinian fighters within the refugee camp have vowed to continue fighting against the occupation. Many will tell you that the Israeli military’s actions will only drive more Palestinians to want to see revenge.
Seventy percent of Jenin roads bulldozed by Israeli forces
Our colleagues at Al Jazeera Arabic have received an update from the Jenin Municipality about the damage to infrastructure in the city, which Israeli forces are raiding for a fifth straight day.
According to the municipality, Israeli forces have bulldozed nearly 70 percent of Jenin’s streets and 20km (12.4 miles) of its water and sewage networks. As a result, 80 percent of the refugee camp is left without water access, it says.

Palestinians in Jenin still stranded at home without food, water
This is the fifth day of the military operation in Jenin. It happened suddenly so no one was prepared for it. Now, many Palestinians are left without water and food.
We’ve been speaking to families who say that their children are waking up scared of the noise. People cannot provide their loved ones with a sense of safety. This is a reminder of what it means to be a Palestinian under military occupation. You have no control over your town, no control over your streets. You don’t know if you’re going to get home safely or even if your home is going to be spared.
Israel ‘blocking and even targeting’ ambulances in Jenin assault
Doctors Without Borders, known by its French initials MSF, says Israeli forces have been obstructing access to health facilities, blocking traffic and targeting ambulances in Jenin, delaying people’s access to care.
The NGO has called the “scale and intensity” of Israel’s ongoing assault on Jenin “alarming”, adding that Israeli forces are surrounding the Khalil Suleiman Hospital – also known as the Jenin Government Hospital – in the city, where electricity and water supplies are at risk.
The organisation also mentioned receiving reports that an MSF-trained volunteer was beaten and interrogated by Israeli authorities in Tulkarem.
