Hebron tense as Israeli forces erect checkpoints, look for possible attack accomplices
The southern area of the occupied West Bank, Hebron in particular, is the largest district of the territory. About one million people live there.
What we’ve been hearing from residents there is that Israeli forces have set up several checkpoints, inspecting cars and not really allowing a free flow of traffic out. They are still searching for [people who may have aided] two suspected attackers involved in a car explosion in a gas station in the settlement of Gush Etzion, as well as an overnight attack in the settlement [of Karmei Tzur].
The situation in Hebron is quite tense as there is a large deployment of forces.

Israeli authorities close Hebron’s Ibrahimi Mosque: Report
We’ve been reporting on numerous road closures and restrictions in Hebron, which Israeli forces are raiding following a series of attacks in nearby illegal Israeli settlements. Israeli authorities have now moved to shutter the city’s Ibrahimi Mosque, considered one of Islam’s holiest sites, to Palestinians, according to Israel’s Ynet news site.

Palestinian Health ministry confirms killing of 2 in Hebron
The ministry has announced that Muhammad Ihsan Yaqin Maraqa and Zahdi Nidal Abu Afifa have been shot dead by the Israeli forces in the north of the occupied West Bank governorate. Earlier, Israel’s military said troops shot dead two Palestinians in two separate incidents in the occupied territory.
The army said one infiltrated an illegal Israeli settlement and another shot at soldiers after his car exploded.
Israeli forces detain at least 22 in occupied West Bank
The Palestinians arrested during raids since last night include a journalist, a woman, former prisoners and children.
The number of detentions since the beginning of the Israeli operation in the West Bank on Wednesday morning has risen to about 70, said a statement by the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society and the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs.
The Israeli forces have arrested more than 10,300 citizens in the occupied West Bank, including the East Jerusalem, since October 7, it added.
